Is it possible to switch out the round pin to a square back style pin? Shown in pictures. Thanks so much looking forward to what you guys think - josh

I don't see how that could happen. The sqaure style slides in a groove on the bolt made for it. I am working on restoring one now that was left in the rafters of a garage. It was a mess and had a broken firing pin.

You can change but you must change the breech bolt to match.

why do you want to change it?
I feel like the round was is too short which I could order another one. I herd the square one is more reliable.

Oh okay thanks! I’ll just order another round one. The one I have I feel like is too short

Well how much protrusion do you have? Measuring will tell you exactly.
The pin is 2.82 inches
That's the overall length. I'm talking about protrusion. How far does the tip protrude throught the bolt face. Should be measured in thousandths like .035" or similar. If the firing pin does not protrude far enough then it may not be able to ignite the primer.

The firing pin is inertial. It’s supposed to be shorter than the bolt, otherwise you’d get slam fires.

I get that you may feel it is too short. I had one this way. It would lightly dimple primers but no bang. Order a new one, but don’t waste your time switching between styles.
