Greetings. This looks like an older 20" bbl. Would a newer Remington 3 shot magazine extension match the bbl at the end (flush), or would there be a gap like in the setup now?

I just ordered a Remington 3 shot extension from Brownells and have it mounted with the same barrel you're using. It has the same amount of overhang that you have, about a 1/2". A 20.5" barrel would be near perfect on mine.
Switch to a after market tube ext that is even with the muzzle. If you want I will send you a free adapter side sling stud screw & nut so you can still use the factory mag tube clamp on the after market ext. It will also allow you to put the clamp anywhere you want on the bbl & tube ext. Give me a PM if you decide you want one.
Here is what the adapter side sling stud screw looks like installed on a after market tube extension: You can also use it on the factory tube ext.
I don't like my tube extensions to extend past the bbl either.
