I just picked up a Stevens 66B .22 bolt action rifle, and come to find out it is without firing pin. Now, I have done some basic strip/assembly work on other firearms, but never a bolt action. I took the bolt out, figuring I could just get a firing pin and drop it in myself. The front of the bolt twists (about 90˚) but there is no pin to drift out. There are two small detents which I thought might be a pin, but no. I don't have the foggiest how to get at the pin housing.

I'd like to try doing this myself (hopefully with some advice) rather than pay a smith more than what I probably paid for the entire rifle.

Any help is appreciated.

See my reply to your other post on the Stevens 66B you are missing the pin somehow -I'm thinking 2 indents are a tight pin. shootrj2003
