Hi,
I am looking for some informative books on rifle shooting. Any recommendations would be welcome.
All of my shooting is for hunting purposes if that makes a difference.
thanks for any help.

The Appleseed program runs all over the country, and will give you excellent instruction, reasonably priced ($70 for two full days ). It is geared toward shooting semi auto's, but any rifle you bring can be used, and they often will arrange to loan you a 10/22. An accurate shot is an accurate shot no matter if it is for hunting, paper punching, or any other purpose.

I agree with Al, The art of the rifle by Jeff Cooper is a must on any Riflemans bookshelf. Reminds me its probably time to re read it! All Capsticks books are also a very good read. Cooper had several others that are also worth a read.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check those out. I am looking for some info on shooting out past 300 yds say around 500 average. My suspicion is that I need to spend some time at the range shooting that far but I also wouldn't mind reading some stuff.

I believe I read the title of the thread wrong! I thought you meant a rifle shooting a book.

Here's our ole friend, Alec Baldwin. He met with a .22 and a .243. He has yet to meet the 20 gauge!

(This book was gifted to us as a joke, we will return it with a note saying "we really enjoyed the book")
