Rifles and Carbines that you'd like to see made in the future?

Any ideas?

I've always wanted an arms manufacturer to make a Carbine like Jeff Cooper described in "To Ride, Shoot Straight And Speak The Truth", namely a fairly short .44 Mag or .44 Auto Mag Carbine that uses several different size mags from 5 rounds (for short range hunting), 10 rounds (for people behind enemy lines in California) and 20 or 25 rounders for the rest of us.

I know that Bushmaster came out with that .450 AR-15 that kind of matched what he was talking about.

When I saw it though it was kind of a disappointment, I thought that it would be more like a beefed up M1 Carbine or Ruger Deerfield Carbine style. That's what I thought of when I read Coopers book anyway.

So what do you guys have that you've always wanted them to make?

A 460 and 500s&w lever action would be nice. As would something like a Hi Point in 357, and 44 magnum.

There used to be a combo by Crossfire LLC, now defunct. It was a lightweight pump combo 12ga over a .223. It had a AR type mag and action for the rifle. It was short and light. I'd like to see something like this made again.

More piston cycled 5.56 semi-auto rifles and carbines without a buffer tube/spring. We're talkin' XCR, Mini14, SU16 and AR180 type stuff. And I wanna see 'em cheap too. And in a bunch of calibers like 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel and stuff...

I like manually-operated actions. My preferences are for pumps, levers, and bolts- and I like them about equally.

More pump action rifles, with detachable and tube mags. Affordable, too. Tube mags could use traditional flatnose cartridges like the .30-30. Make them in .22LR, pistol calibers, and rifle calibers. I looked at a Taurus M62, and while I liked it, it seemed too small for me. Same deal with the Browning BL-22...
(I would kill for a good pump that is similar to a Marlin 336 in .30-30. I have no idea how exactly to do it, but I would really, really, like one)

I want Marlin to make more of their levers with the pistol grip. I am not a fan of the straight stock. They need to make the 1895 Guide Gun with a pistol grip. Same for the 1894 line

A Marlin 39 that is not priced obscenely. Plain stock, nothing fancy. Get the price down to compete with the Henrys.

And for all rifles- better iron sights. Only one .22 rifle has good sights (the CZ 452 line). I want to see them more robust, with good arpeture and tangent irons. Not everybody likes scopes...

500s&w lever action

Check out Wild West Guns. Although, the price for one is obscene, but it is a way, way cool gun...

I want the Marlin Camp Carbines. I don't see them around here. Bring them back, and give them better iron sights...

I would like an all-steel Bushmaster that says "AR-15".

how about a pump action rifle chambered in the dangerous game calibers, i.e. .375 H&H, .458 LOTT and the such, faster shooting than a bolt, and capable of holding more rounds than a double.

just a thought, don't even know if you'd be able to build the action strong enough.

I Want a .44mag semi-auto rifle 10-20 rd mags rifle the size of the Mini-30 or a pump 44mag like my Taurus Thunderbolt 14+1 45colt ,would buy a 44mag pump but Taurus won't be making any other caliber .

I want a M1 carbine in 10mm Magnum that was made for the Auto-mag. Would be easy for Auto-Ordinance to build em. mags could be moded or new ones that held 30 would be nice. Could do it in 9mm Win. Mag. too. A 10 Mag. necked down to .30 would pep up the 'ol M1 too.

An affordable side by side for .38 and 357mag.

Some sort of carbine in .40, 10mm and .357 SIG that required only a barrel change to swap calibers, since they could all use the same extractor and all ought to feed from identical magazines.

Also, I'd be curious to see what the .223 WSSM could do out of a really, really long barrel, say, 32 inches more more. How about a bolty bullpup in that chambering?

I'd like to see a lighweight Marlin lever that hold only two rounds in an offset position so a spitzer like an x39 or 6.5 Gremlin can be used. If you want to chamber a round it can be 3 shots which is plenty.

A Savage Favorite in 25/20 or 32/20.

A NEF in its namesake, 32H&R.

HiPoint that would take a Glock magazine. If they ever did, there would be no use for any other carbine.

I like Remington's idea of a pump action rifle taking magazines. How about one in 308 taking M1A mags.

A scaled down Sharps in 30/40 or 30/30.

A scaled down Trapdoor in any handgun caliber. 357 or 44 would be my pick.

22lr

A semi-auto .357 magnum carbine or a M-1 Carbine chambered for a more powerful round (5.56, 6.8spc).

Single Shot bolt action in 38 special, scaled to fit the 38 spec, with good target style receiver sights and good front sight. This would be a great training rifle along with that it would make a terrific small game gun out to a 100 yds.

A takedown/break open Rifle in 357 made on a 410 frame. Great for walking in the woods. For long range hiking or survival, it could be carried in or on a pack.

A bolt action carbine chambered in .357 SIG. Quality Iron sights and a fixed magazine would also be needed.
