Wilderness Instructor gunbelt: ~ $45
Uncle Mike's synthetic gunbelt: ~ $30
BlackHawk Rigger's belt: ~ $30
Generic rigger's belt ~ $10 = priceless?

Will any rigger's / rescue belt be stiff enough and function well as a gunbelt?

I need an inexpensive range belt for a full-size auto. I only need it to carry a holster and mags openly, not to hold up my pants or anything else. How about the standard US pistol belt with a padded liner?

Thanks for opinions!

I have a Wilderness Instructor belt that I wear pretty much exclusively. It's the three-stitch model with a polymer stiffener and I can't recommend it enough.
I guess it would depend on whether the Riggers belt has a stiffener or provides you enough support for your purposes.

Look into 5.11 belts. I have the operator and I'm going to get the trainer. They have a stiff liner that keeps the gun from sagging.

The wilderness belt is the standard against which all other "rigger" belts are measured for a reason. I personally think the 5 stich 1.5" belt is perfect. It doesn't need the polymer stiffener unless you are gaming or carrying lots of wieght.
