I read so many stories like that, it makes me hesitant to recommend the '94. I must have something to please the gunstore gods the day I bought mine for $250 NIB at the local pawn shop. Aside from the heavy DA trigger, it's a beautiful gun. The finish is perfect. It's reliable. It's accurate. I fixed the trigger with a lighter Wolf trigger return spring, some polishing, then a good clean and lube. It's still a little heavy, but it matches the trigger of my S&W 642 which is exactly what I want. I even swapped the long rubber grip for a shorter one from a Taurus 85 to give it the same feel in my hand as the 642.As for the Tuarus 94, We use the newer ones with the black grips and the "safety" lock. We have four of them and put alot of rounds through them. Of the four I'd say one was good. We don't baby them. They are always getting sent back to the smith, mustly for cleaning, they lock up and won't rotate with out manually turning the cylinder or lock up and not open. I don't know what would happen if they were shot like I personaly shoot, but my limited experance says I wouldn't own one.
