rings and base

im going to buy a Savage 10Fp-Le2a .223 26"Bbl and but a Leupold VX3 3.5-10X40 B&C Matt on it. my question is what rings should i use? (the lowest i can go.)

This is always a tricky question. Depending on the base you use, I think Warne's medium rings would probably work well.

Here's a link to a method to calculate ring height. Savage 10/110 can be a bit of a problem due to the protrusion of the barrel nut.
