Yes, if an outside holding company were to buy Ford they *can* say that prior to this date any automobile made no longer falls under their umbrella.

Companies typically don't, but they can.

I am not a lawyer but it sounds odd. Customer paid money for goods (car or gun) and warranty. If new owners are not responsible, who is? Someone has my money... Does warranty fine print say it's void if company is sold?
