I have a 44 mag (Ruger) Black Hawk, that kicks the dang outa me. My question, has any one used some kind of trigger guard cushion? I need help before I lose my middle finger.:banghead:

I bought some PAST shooting gloves for the same reason. They help. I thought about getting different grips but don't like the looks of any of them.
Don't like shootin no ugly gun you know. I used to have a ruger 44 mag bisley but now have the same gun in 45 colt. Load some fairly heavy loads with 250 and 300 grain bullets. Like I said the gloves do help. Got 'em from Midway.

do you have the squared trigger guard? It's also know as "dragoon style".

Which model of Blackhawk do you own? Three screw, New Model, Anniversary Model, Super Blackhawk, Bisley Blackhawk.

Also check out www.cdnnsports.com, but look out for the one-size-fits-all-orders shipping charge.

Pachmayr used to make rubber-like material stocks that were inexpensive, and would solve your problem.

I've had a Super Blackhawk for years. I got my first set of aftermarket grips for it about a month after I first shot it since it beat the snot out of the knuckle of my middle finger. A set of Pachmyer grips.

I tried two other sets of grips which looked nicer...but weren't near as good.
I put that first set of aftermarket grips back on it and they have been there ever since. They don't look pretty, a cute kinda ugly really, but they point well, absorb recoil, protect the middle finger knuckle and do what they need to do. You'd be hard pressed to convince me any other grip on a SBHK would work as well and get me to try them.

A close friend talked me into trying his shooting glove. I did. Didn't care for it. Haven't used one since. Only gloves I use are for cold weather...that's for warmth.

I shoot well with that pistol and every deer season we do hunting. Actually, I usually end up just taking it for a walk...but we go anyway.
