Ruger Black hawk Flat Top 45/45LC

Just bought a Ruger Blackhawk Flat Top .45ACP/.45LC 4 5/8inch (Lipseys) Can someone tell me a little about the (Lipseys) part of it. I traded my Uberti cattleman in for it as I am having more fun SAS shooting with my 1860 army and 1858 black powder revolvers than the Cattleman.

Lipseys is the distributor. The way it works, a distributor can have the factory (Ruger, S&W, Uberti, etc.) make up a special run of guns to their specification, usually non-cataloged features, and then distribute these special guns to dealers as ordered.

Classic examples are Ubertis via Cimarron, Stoegers, or whomever.

The manufacturer will specifiy a minimum number of units to be made up, say a thousand or so. And the factory refrains from offering the special as a catalog item for a given period of time.

Yep, as long as they order enough guns, they can pretty much get whatever they want, within reason.

You can do the same thing, if you meet their minimum order number & pay for it up front.
