Ruger countdown here we go again

Disappointment :(

I know that polymer seems to be what some folks want these days but I would have truly loved to see them come out with a new all metal auto us folks that aren't into the plastic fantastics.

+1 Tango. I would like to see Ruger make a compact, non polymer pistol smaller than the P series.

:banghead::cuss::banghead::cuss:
where to start...
the sr9c: longer, taller, and even thicker than the glock 26 with the same capacity....glock wins

.327? um...cant find ammo ANYWHERE (at least around here). I found one box ONCE about 2 1/2 hours away and it was twice the price as the box of .357 next to it

.327 gp100: this is the only one that makes any sense if any. a light recoiling wheel gun with a 7 round capacity. good for HD with the right ammo and maybe ok for smaller game if loaded very lightly

a .327 blackhawk!!??!?! a hunting size single action revolver that is illegal for hunting use (at least it is in my state). what a total waste of good metal.

overall what a total and epic let down.:banghead:

happy new year:cuss:

Big let down. I would have been happy if they announced a new adjustable trigger system for their rifles. To compete with just about every other brand out there.

I really like the SR9 and look forward to handling the SR9c. Where do people get info saying the SR9 has a bad trigger. I think it has a real nice trigger.

I can't figure out why they are trying too hard to promote the 327s

LOL, this thread was full of happy speculation and hope...

...until the announcement. Formula 1 race car straight into a brick wall doesn't describe the change in this thread.

I don't like the herd mentality, but I actually agree with all of you who say this was

A. a letdown
B. boring
C. anti climactic
D. not worth the hype
E. not worth ANY hype

I hope ruger management is watching/reading this thread.

There is ZERO chance I will buy this gun. 1. because of price, and 2. I don't buy guns with idiotic magazine disconnect "safeties."

I hope the revolvers will popularize the cartridge and pave the way for a five shot snubbie in 327 mag.

I for one am glad they didn't go the 1911 route. Although they probably could've made more money that way. Who knows though. Obviously no one here is just dying to get their hands on one of these new guns. However, most of us on THR probably have all/most of our CCW needs met. Perhaps they'll make more money from the people that still need to meet such needs.

Well.... that was fun now what? Seems like ruger is going in the right direction as far as I'm concerned, too bad all the naysayers want em to fail...the sr9 can compete with the glocks at a lower price any day. Ruger to me means it will go bang every time.

If its a AR-15, it'll have a 10 round magazine, XD Mr. Ruger said "No honest man should need more than 10 rounds in a gun at a time" I strongly disagree.

Newsflash, Ruger has been shipping an AR-type rifle with 30 round magazines for a year now. They've also been selling 20 and 30 round Mini-14 magazines as well. Time to let that quote go.

Wow, I have to agree with a lot of folks here. There is no reason for Ruger to have hyped up this "countdown" so much. They're offering nothing that's truly new. A different chambering for two existing revolvers, and a "compact" version of an existing auto. Lame.

Blecch. Why a GP100 in a smaller caliber? I still want a five-shot GP100 in .41 mag ... or even .44 spl.

I do recall predicting the gun would, in fact, be a compact SR-9 :D

As far as getting the "info" about the SR9 having a bad trigger, all you have to do it try it. If this isn't enough "info" by itself, then maybe trying a truly good trigger first would be in order.

I wouldn't say the SR-9 has a bad, horrible, God kills-a-kitten-everytime-you-pull-it trigger. It's not the best, either...rather middle of the road and it could use some improvement.

An LCR in .327 would have been ok.
An LCR 3.5" kit gun in 22mag or .327 would have been ok.
A slightly larger LCP in 9mm would have been ok.
A PERFECTED 10/22 Magnum would have been ok.
A PERFECTED X-GI would have been ok.
A 96/327 or 96/480 would have been ok.

What a letdown.

Looking at the specs seems to be bigger than an XDsc except for maybe width

I feel like the little kid that didn't get the puppy he wanted for Christmas....

The LCR was some fresh air.... Another compact auto is B-O-R-I-N-G.........
