They just made me a happy customer yet again.

A part on my stainless Ranch Rifle broke -- it's the little bushing that holds the guide rod in place. To its credit, the gun kept firing perfectly, with the broken part and with a lot of fouling. I didn't even know how dirty the gun was, or that it was broken, until I stripped it for cleaning, because the gun's performance was the same as it is when freshly-cleaned and intact.

So I called Ruger and they sent me a replacement part, free of charge, immediately. It's a drop-in part that you remove when cleaning the gun, so it's not something I'd want or need a smith to do.

For anyone who has doubts about Ruger's "no warranty" policy, believe me, it's nothing to have any misgivings about. If it breaks, they fix it, fast and free.

That has been my experience too. I was the second owner of an early 10/22 magnum that had intermittent FTF. They tried twice to fix it and failed. When I called after the the second attempt I got a return call indicating they were working on some design changes and I could either wait or they would replace the rifle with any rimfire that Ruger made. And that's how I wound up with my now favorite rifle, the All Weather 77/22 magnum. How can anyone can find fault with that sort of service and willingness to stand behind their product and make the owner of the gun satisfied? What helped to impress me was at no time did they even ASK how I got the rifle, where it was purchased or anything of the sort. It was a Ruger was all they needed to know, along with the address of where to send the replacement rifle. And since it was a warranty replacement, no ATF paperwork BS either. Very very satisfactory experience.

I bought a Bearcat revolver a few years ago where the sights were Wayyyyyy off. Had it sent back to Ruger. They not only did a great job of fixing the sights, but threw in a very nice trigger job as well.
