Went to the Gun Range with a friend of mine that I have known over 30 years. He brought along his Ruger LC9S. I found it shot great, handled well, and we were able to hit pretty nicely to point of aim. After that I let him shoot my Mini 14 and my GSR. Back to the LC9S. I found the slide release (stop) almost impossible to operate with my thumb. What should be the reload drill for this pistol? Drop the mag, then ........

I found you could pull back on the slide, easy enough. Hardly quick. The slide release (stop) is smooth and slightly beveled. Is racking the slide the answer? I liked the pistol. It handled great. Just wanted to know what the experts here do? Thanks.

Watch out!! somebody is gonna jump all over you and tell you "that is a slide STOP, not a slide release."

I have found it works as a release on some guns and not on others.. Size, and when the gun was first developed, make a difference.
