Has anyone chronographed any commonly available .380 ammo through a Ruger LCP?

I'm guessing pretty low velocities.

Has anyone here shot a dog, coyote or other living animal with an LCP? If so, how did it perform, and what was your ammo and shot placement?

In general, do you like your LCP? How bad is recoil?

In the November 2008 issue of "Combat Handguns", Dennis Adler chronographed Corbon 90 grain JHP at 950 fps out of the LCP, and American Eagle 95 grain FMJ at 858.

In the September/October 2008 issue of "American Handgunner", John Taffin got 777 fps out of the LCP for Blazer 88 grain JHP, 1090 for Buffalo Bore 100 grain HCFN, 862 for Federal 90 grain JHP, and 786 for Winchester 95 grain SXT.

Thanks. I don't know who Dennis Adler is, but pretty much trust Taffin.

I avoid Cor-Bon ammo, but that Federal 90 grainer looks good!

I just picked up an LCP as a present for the wife. While terminal ballistics are an important consideration, worrying about it with regard to this little gun are a little superfluous. It is roughly as much stomp as can be had in such a small machine, and that is the value of the piece. Even so, it is clearly at a massive dissadvantedge in the power department. Your question is kind of like buying a Passion ForTwo, and then worrying about crash data. Or a Prius, and then worrying about the lack of race-car prowess. Those cars may have some utility, but they don't excell at everything. My neaighbors dog has been ticking me off, though....I'll let you know if I have something to report.
