My brother came over and I wanted to show him my new Ruger LCP. He went to dry-fire the gun with a snap cap and nothing happened. The hammer came back as the trigger moved, but the hammer never dropped.
I took the gun apart (slide, spring, barrel) but didn't touch the trigger group. I put the gun back together and tried dry-firing it again. I had to squeeze the trigger further back than normal and the hammer dropped when the rear of the trigger was pressed up against the frame! I racked the slide and tried again: same results. I racked the slide and tried again: the hammer wouldn't drop.
Should I just call Ruger? Any suggestions?
About the gun: three weeks old, 200 rounds of CCI and Remington UMC down the pipe without issues, dry-fired fewer than twelve times.
