Ok I am new to this forum and I am a BIG RUGER GUY. I had my mind set on getting a LCR .357 shortly, when they became more common, but after reading the thread about the Chiappa Rhino thread i am intrigued.

I know the LCR .357 hasn't really "hit the shelfs" yet, so this isn't a real good comparison question, but if you had to purchase one or the other what are your thought?

I really don't know much about Chiappa. How Long has the Rhino been out?

Of course I will get some suggestions for others and that is ok (this is a discussion forum after all), but I am really interested in these 2.

Thoughts for a Newbie? THANKS!!!

Well, in my opinion this isn't really an apples-to-apples comparison.

Ruger LCRs are small and light, Chiappa Rhinos are big and heavy (by comparison).

I would ALMOST go so far as to say a Ruger LCR could be a backup gun to a Chiappa Rhino.

The LCR is going to be easier and more comfortable to carry, but the Rhino is going to be much easier to handle when firing full .357 magnum loads. You also get an extra round in the cylinder with the Rhino.
