Ha ha - "May cause dizzyness"

I'm a Smith & Wesson guy, but I could never warm up to any J-frame revolver. Then my wife decided she HAD to have a purple LCR. No problem. I stuck one on layaway. When we picked it up a few weeks later, my wife looked at it and asked why I bought it. It told her "You wanted it." She said, with female logic, "Well, now I don't. You can have it."

Well, like I said, normally I don't care for a J-frame, but the LCR feels totally different. There is more grip to hold onto, but not a LOT more. It fits into my Don Hume J.I.T. holsters for a J-frame just fine. Light as a feather. The trigger is better than any J-frame I've ever owned. I shoot it as well or better than a J-frame (I've had three or fours J's, and still have a 642LS).

I don't even care that it's purple.

The LCR is a good but not great concealed carry revolver. Its stock trigger pull is better than a stock J-Frame trigger pull. However, my J-frame (SW-638) with an Apex Tactical spring kit and mild polishing of the action has a much better trigger pull than the LCR and will set off Winchester, Remington, and Federal ammunition as well as all of my reloads. .

As mentioned above, the LCR trigger has a somewhat vague reset and it is more possible to short-stroke it than the J-frame trigger. This can be overcome with practice.

I had two .38 special LCRs, a 2" barrel and a 3" barrel LCR-X. The recoil and the twisting of both LCRs was noticeably greater than my SW-638. All told, I simply shoot the 638 much better and that's why I've kept it and sold the two LCRs.

I've had one in .38 for several years. No complaints, good trigger out of the box and no corrosion issues with EDC. Replaced my S&W 642 with no regrets.

I've owned my two KLCRs for close to six years now and they have been my CCW of choice since new. I carry one in a CrossBreed OWB holster that is simple and effective and if I feel like carrying both I carry the other in a Renegade Cozy Partner ankle holster or in a front pocket. I installed XS big dot sights on both. One has the Hogue monogrip and the other has the Crimson trace laser grip. The CT model fits my front pocket a lot better. I wouldn't give up either KLCR for all the tea in China! They are simply fantastic little revolvers.
