Ruger Old Army Discontinued ?

Didn't know this was a matter of religious orthodoxy. Bought my first percussion Colt, an original 1851 Navy, in 1963, and have owned around ten original and replica guns. The most recent two Old Armies. Current count is six: that old Navy; three Uberti replicas (Walker, Dragoon, and '61 Navy)and the ROAs. I like all of them for valid reasons and if I didn't like them a lot I wouldn't have them.

Seems like that ought to just about cover it.

I've had my Old Army for almost twenty years and it is by far the most accurate handgun that I own.
I hate to see Ruger dis-continuing so fine a piece.
I hope that it is not a promise of things to come with Ruger.

The Old Army is accurate and well made, but overbuilt and poorly balanced, with a grip that's too small for the frame. Accuracy and durability mean little to me if I hate holding the gun in my hand.

shawnee, I've got the Ohio gun collectors show to go to this weekend. If I don't find something to dazzle my eye and by then you haven't sold your Ruger we must set up a meet to let me compare your Ruger and that navy. With full expectations that I'll buy one or the other. You can name the place maybe somewhere closer to Hillsboro so we can find a decent dive for food and refreshments. Sometime next week would work for me.
