Hey guys,
I have a chance to pick up a Redhawk .44 Stainless with a 7.5" barrel for $400. Guy says it has hardly been shot and is pretty much in new condition. He bought it used for bear protection when elk hunting but wants a .44 snubby instead, says he doesn't like the 7.5" for horseback and such. Is this a good deal??? Anything I need to be aware of???? I currently own a 6" Stainless GP100 wich I LOVE, is the Redhawk as good of gun as a Gp??? My use for it will primarily target and my woods gun for deer hunting. I kinda have the revolver hunting bug after successfully harvesting my first deer with my .357 mag, .44 seems like the logical next step to get a little more serious about it. I have shot a Blackhawk in a .44 with a 6" barrel wich I did NOT like the grip on, didn't seem like I could get my big paw on it with more than 3 fingers, and a S&W .44 with a 6 or 7" barrel wich I really liked. The Smith was much more comfortable then the Blackhawk to me, wish I knew the model number but do not. How does the grip size and shape compare between the Black/Redhawks???? I guess I'm hoping the Redhawk is similar to my gp 100 ergonomically. Thanks in advance
