I was at "The Gun Rack" in Kernersville NC today, and saw my first Ruger SxS in the ferrous flesh; 20 ga, stainless receiver, blued barrels, trigger guard, and lever. I was amazed - since it was a Ruger product, I had expected it to be somewhat clunky, but it was very petite and classy. Splinter forend, low non-ventilated (thank god) rib, I'm considering it at less than $1800.00. I did buy a new (non-safety) Legacy Winchester 9422 to go with my "regular" 9422. Now I won't have to fight my wife for the older one.

Wow! Was informed by a tech guy at Ruger that they had no intentions on the Gold Lable in anything but 12ga. Things are looking up for me and a SxS.

According to Ruger's site the Gold Label is only made in 12 gauge. But I know that a slim 6 and 1/3 pound gun would look like a 20, and feel like a 20. Perhaps you may have been mistaken Bullet Bob?

If not it would be on my list of guns to have.

I could have been mistaken - I didn't handle it, but with that slim receiver and forend, assumed 12 ga. barrels would have looked lager.
