My safe is full , so I have a few long guns in the corners of a room .

I wiped them down today and got a little rust residue off them .

These are BP rifles , put have never been shot . I just bought them ( used ) in Aug. . I cleaned them and wiped them down with Eezox after getting them .

The weather was nice in Sep. & Oct. so I didn't run the AC much those months , if any in Oct. .

What made me look closer at them was , ( am single & my press is mounted on my kitchen table ) . I removed my press and put it in a bedroom closet because I had a installer coming to hook up new TV / IT service .

About a month latter I went to reinstall my press , I was shocked to see rust all over the handle arm . It had never rusted on my kitchen table ( just got it in Feb. ) . The rust wiped off , but some of the paint came off near the handle , with the rust .

So after this I decided to wiped down my rifles that were in a different bedroom . I could not see any rust on them like on the press arm , but I did get a rust color on the rag that I used to wipe them down with .

Today I went and bought a room/house dehumidifier . When I plugged it in , it only read 55% RH .

Do you think that would rust a gun or it probably happened in that month or two that I didn't run the AC ?

What would be your solution to my problem ?

I was thinking about trying R.I.G. or T-9 . I looked at it last night @ brownells .

Do you think I am wasting my money running a room/house dehumidifier if I use R.I.G. ?
