I've loaded many many S&B 9mm brass, not one issue; I use Lee carbide dies with no lube. Are you cleaning them first? I wet tumble with pins for about 30 min. before decapping/sizing.
I recently purchased some S&B 115 Gr 9mm, they worked fine.
After firing them I attempted to decap and resize them using my lee carbine dies.
I had so much difficulty with them, and two actually got stuck in the resizing die.
I've never used lube as it isn't required with the carbide dies, maybe I should try it with this brand.
Has anyone had problems with them?
Just tried a few 45acp range pick-ups. met one with too much resistance so I canned it; the others were tighter than the other brands but went fine - this is on a RCBS Jr single stage

We've seen issues in the past with different brands of brass having smaller or offset flash holes which makes sizing much more effort with some dies. Using a pocket swage is pretty much standard practice for those of us who regularly reload surplus rifle brass. Personally I like the S&B brass for 44 mag. Seems to last longer with full house reloads.
As an aside, reloading steel isn't terribly difficult or different from brass for straight wall pistol like 45 and 38 special. Large pistol primers didn't seem to an issue other than a little extra push. Small was different story - must be swaged or primers end up crushed. Can get 4 or 5 load before the 38s cracked. Why was this done you may ask? Simple, to try it. Could not tell any difference when fired versus brass.
