I have always used CCI primers but I ran out of LP, less than 150 SP, and about 300 SR primers left in my stash. I can't seem to find any locally except overpriced at the gunshows that roll around every 4-5 months.

I found Cabela's has S&B primers for $25/1k - not bad at all for price - especially if you grab several thousand to spread the hazmat fee. Plus coupon code for free shipping over $99.

Any, I hope S&B are good to go as I ordered 7k of them :) I know S&B ammo is pretty good stuff so no reason to believe their primers aren't the same.

I had some issues with light strikes using S&B primers in my glock but it was running reduced power springs. I put the factory springs back in, and the issues went away. So if you are running light springs, be aware.

Otherwise, they are gtg. I have 5K of them on hand. BTW, thanks for the tip. Gonna order me some SRP.

I have used these for L/S pistol applications, mostly just lowest cost type training ammo(short range). So far they work great and no issues. I did buy some L/S rifle primers to try,but have not done so yet.

My pistols all have factory springs - Glock 20, XD9, 3913, Kahr PM9 so hopefully no issues. I read that S&B are a bit harder than CCI, but not overly so. Hopefully they seat well with Lee hand prime tool.

No problems in my 9mms (Taraus PT99, Springfield XD, 1911, Sig P226)
Got mine for about that price, happy with them.

They're softer than CCI in Small Pistol. I've run about 20,000 of them so far, and have yet to have one fail to go off in several different calibers and multiple handguns.

Hope this helps.

Great - thanks for the feedback guys. Now just the wait for the UPS guy.

Small pistol and large pistol primers are on sale at cabelas for 19.99 a thousand, plus a free shipping promo code is on the website.

In my pistols (all hammer fired) no problems whatsoever. I've used thousands of them, no problems. Now I'm using Fiocchi because they're cheaper and work equally well. However, shooting my reloads on a buddy's Glock 17, some rounds wouldn't go off. Perhaps too hard for the Glock.

I also have used S&B primers in all flavors with good results. I use the Lee hand primer as well.:)

It is good to see the primers in general are back about everywhere and the prices dropping to reasonable levels again ($18-$20 per K) even though that has happened slowly. I see it's time for me to stock up before some other problem drives the prices back to insane levels again.
