I joined the S&W club and bought a really nice condition 19-4 4" barrel deeeeeply blued beauty today. Now I just have to wait 10 days! I was doing the checkout on the gun and I noticed that when I pulled the hammer back it would occasionally not click twice on one of the cylinders. I'd hear the first click, but not the second click. This is only on one of the cylinders and only some of the time. Is this dangerous? Whats the best way to fix this for the least expense?

What your describing doesn't sound like a timing or lockup issue.

could just be a worn revolver or someone attempted a trigger job and didn't know what they were doing. or you could be just over analyzing it.

How is the timing and lockup? Lockup is the amount of wiggle in the cylinder. Timing is the alignment of the bore and cylinder holes when you have the trigger fully pulled back

Yes... overanalyzing, sorry. I jumped the gun and misdiagnosed. What do you recommend?

So the fact that it didn't click twice doesn't mean anything unsafe?
