A friend has S&W 38 cal, 5" barrel, about 50 years old is the revolver. It has the name of police master. Does anyone have any info on this ? Thanks everybody.
Numerous S&W and Colt revolvers have names derived from police, but I have never heard of "Police Master." The best selling S&W ever is the Military & Police. is this what you mean?
Basic info like how many rounds in the cylinder and the serial would help with ID.
Well there's the Colt Shooting Master, the Colt Police Positive and Police Positive Special, the S&W Combat Masterpiece, and the S&W Military and Police. Are there any other markings on the gun? With a name like Police Master it almost sounds like it's some kind of foreign copy of a S&W Military and Police Model; possibly made in Spain in the early 1900's to the 1920's.
