S&W .500 compensator(s) ?????

Why the 2 different compensators for the 500? I know onw is for jacketed bullets and the other for lead. What if I wanted to load my revolver with 3 hard cast bullets and 2 Hornady XTP hollow points. Could I shoot them out of the same compensator without any ill effects?

I shoot everything out of my compensator that is for the lead bullets. I don't like the compensator that is for the jacketed bullets. Never cared for the top ports. I tried to get a end cap for my 4 inch 500 Mag, but S&W does not make them. They only make them for the 460 Mag and I have one on my 5 inch 460 Mag.

I have a friend who bought the 8" S&W 500 (I have a 4" S&W 500 that I fire jacketed reloads) and sent it to S&W to have cut down to 6" without a compenator. There's an idea for you!
