I have searched and contacted all the obvious sources of Smith parts I can find to no avail, I need a new or near new 4" 41 mag barrel, Mine was stepped on by a horse and is slightly crooked, still shoots on, out to about 60 yds but then I'm out of windage adjustment. Thanks to anyone that can provide a lead.

I doubt that a horse can bend a 4" M57 barrel. If the gun shoots to point of aim, no damage other than cosmetic damage to the outside was done. At worst, the horse may have bent the frame of the revolver, in which case S&W could make it right again. S&W can repair the cosmetic damage also.

I think you asked for the wrong thing. Send the gun to S&W with a request that they "repair the damage."

I got to agree.
I think if anything got bent, it would have to be the frame, or the front sight.

Maybe have the horse step on it on the other side and bend it back?

Have had the frame checked, Its true. The barrel is bent and is plainly visible from the point of impact on out and yes, there is cosmetic damage on the left side but not visible or felt in the bore. You can look down the bore with a good light and see the curvature. Have had it to several revolversmiths, and the diagnosis is the same, but no barrels available. I witnessed the horse step on it and a rifle laying together in camp when a deer was brought in on another horse. The horse that did the damage was on his first hunting/packtrip, also broke the stock on the Browning B-78.

I think I would first shoot the horse.
Second, I would put a want to buy ad in the S&W Forum. Never know what you might find.
