I just picked up a S&W model 10-10, it was on the cheap for $200, from a local gun store. It has the heavy barrel, at 4 inches in length. It has about 75% blueing left, and all it seems to have is holster wear. Bore is great, bright and shiny. This is a square butt model, and stamped on the bottom is the number BHT2XX. Can anyone give me any ideas on the age of this piece? The guy in the shop had no idea other than it had to be post '73.

Nice buy

I got one from Buds recently, Lots of blue gone but solid mechanically and clean shiny bore. $269.00 plus xfer fee of 10.00
I am so tickled to have this gun I could squeal like a tweener at a Bieber concert.

I saw those

I saw those too, I am half wondering if that is where this one came from. If it won't detract from it, I may have it re blued. At the low price I paid, I doubt it will make it worth less.

I, too got one of the OSP systems from Gunbroker for $199. Very little holster wear and looked new inside.

Very nice shooting revolver. You can't beat these LE trade ins for value.

Nice pic!

Love all the iron here! I am sort of doing a rough plan on what to get next. I am told the model 64 is pretty good too, but I keep seeing this model 57 popping up wherever I go. The reason I havent bought it yet is that it is nearly impossible to find a lever gun companion.

Browncoatdawn,

I have a model 64, I got it in a trade....it doesn't have the prettiest finish but it's a shooter and my new house gun. I traded some German tupperware for my Model 57 which is a blast to shoot!
