S&W model 10-5

I picked up a S&W 10-5 in .38 spl. with a 2 inch bbl. for $200. It has a pinned barrel, standard grips, 3 screw frame. Serial # is D3024XX. Can anyone tell me what year it was made? Thanks

S&W used serial numbers D90001 through D330000 1969-1970.

Thanks so much. I thought late sixty's early 70's. My other S&W's are all 5 screw's, K .22 Combat Masterpiece 1952. K .22 Masterpiece 1953. K .38 Masterpiece 1954. All have 95% blue with pinned barrel and sights, Gold box and instructions. Original diamond grips numbered to the gun. I love them and shoot them well. Maybe someday I'll find a K .32 Masterpiece to go with the set.

I noticed when cleaning that the backstrap had capital letters M.D.C. 905 on it. I wondering if it was a rack number for a correctional facility or a department of corrections. Maybe a Police Dept.????? Any guesses????? Thanks
