S&W model 15 worth and when made.

I have a S&W model 15, blue,4" bbl...very nice, just the turn line is visible as far as wear goes. I got it in a trade. Looks like new except for the line. Anyway I was wondering what it could be worth? It says Mod-15....no other dash lines (like for 15-3, etc). The serial number is K415***. Does anyone know when it was made and it's worth?

Internet charts are contradictory, but not much.
The Model 15 is said to have been made 1957-1959 but that serial number is shown for 1960.
The companies are not real careful about stuff like that, though.

Maybe somebody with the book will be able to refine that for you.

I won't guess a price, check the auction sites and see what is being bid.

Jim is correct, the book shows that as being made in 1960. Numbered models started in 1957. The K range in 1960 went from K386805-K429894. That is about the extent of the narrowing the book allows. I too have no idea on price.
