S&W Model 60-9 Question

I have a stainless S&W Model 60-9. It's a pre-lock model with a serial number CDY3XXX. Could someone please tell me it's year of manufacture?
Is the Model 60 the least desireable of the Smithy "J" frames? I read lots of threads from folks who talk about how great their "J" frames are but few if any on the Model 60. I really like mine.

There's nothing undesirable about a model 60. My pre-agreement model 60 is my most frequently carried gun.

If it is a .38 caliber snubby, I'd go for it. Its a good gun.

If it is a .357 caliber snubby, I'd pass.

The M60 dash 9 is a .357 Magnum stainless J-frame, GREAT GUN. Accurate, reliable, quite controllable with .357 Mag, and joy to shoot with .38 Sp.
