I sent my 686 into Smith about two weeks ago for repair. Anyone know how long I will probably wait for them to fix it? Thanks.

What are you asking to be done

Are they polishing you something or re-somethinging your something... Honestly. The cryptic nature of you question is baffling.

If I recall correctly you were posting about a timing issue a brand new revolver. That work takes precedence over just sending an older gun in for work like trigger jobs or refinishing. So if that's the case don't let the extremely long examples concern you too much.

I currently have a 3.25" Hi-Viz Model 66-5 over there for shaving FMJs! Had the pleasure of removing a sliver from my cheek!

I haven't head a single peep in a month, so I'll be calling them next week.

Definitely not a stellar turnaround in my case. I hope to God they can repair it, because there's not anything in the current lineup that's calling my name.

I sent my new 686+ to them a couple months ago because of a timing issue. Came back a couple weeks later with a really nice trigger and action.

This would tend to make me believe that new guns with operational issues get prioritized. In my case, it was a very dangerous situation.

After trading into a 586 a while back, I read about the recall on them. Though the pistol seemed fine (I got it from an old buddy, and was already familiar with it), I sent it back for the recall work since it was totally free (even shipping).
If I recall correctly, it was at my front door exactly two weeks after I mailed it. I couldn't complain.

Warranty work is done in a couple of weeks, normally.
Custom jobs are a different story.
Sent in this 29-2 in May 2013 for firing pin bushing, recut forcing cone and refinish.
Got it back this July - 14 months in the shop. Most of that was awaiting estimation.
But it was worth the wait. They replaced the cylinder and trigger, too.
Didn't even realize they were bad.
