I'm seriously considering upgrade to Sako in 300 Win Mag. Mostly for hunting deer, elk, moose and long range non-competetive shooting to improve hunting capabilities. I have Savage 110 and have had others.
I have a Tikka t3 light in 308 which I like, and yes I Know I don't Need 300 Win Mag to take the creatures listed, but that is Not the question here.
Question is which Sako new or used Under $1250 should I get.
I started by seeing a local listing for an A7
Lightly used for $800 with threaded barrel and muzzle brake. Seems like a step up from a Tikka t3 light, but How Much of a step up? And the Tikka is nothing to sneeze at: fantastic trigger, super smooth bolt, and a joy to carry in field, acceptably accurate.
Then I started seeing varieties of model 85 and 75. Of course These are generally much more $.
I'm interested in the Finnlight and Finnlight 2, Grey Wolf and others.
Are they worth it? Why?
I Insist on the barrel being Threaded.
Which would you suggest and why?
Or maybe a Different brand?
