Sarsilmaz 9mm handgun?

Live and learn! I have been down that road and now, every new pistol I buy is stripped, thoroughly cleaned and lubed before the first shot. That experience sure takes the fun out of the first shoot.

I had about same results with my new Hancer 2000. Mine would hit the round but not hard enough to fire , I soon noticed that the slide wasn't quite going all the way forward. Soon came to same thought of cleaning & oiling first.
I'm not giving up on the gun, feels great and shoots straight when it shoots.
MY white dots on rear sights fell off,no big deal.I also noticed that mags were loose when loaded in gun ,but no issuses.
Let's get these guns lined out, keep us updated. As it's a steel gun, I'm sure it will need quite a few rounds to work out the little quirks in it. I really want to make it workout for range & plinking. I had to take display model, last one here, so low ssn 00290.;)

Mine was the last NIB the store had in the safe, but serial# was low too. In the low 200s too, I think. It wouldn't bother me to buy the display model, though. These Sarsilmaz probably got very little interest from shoppers, most of whom would only look at the big names (Glock, Sig, S&W, Ruger, etc.). So they seldom get taken out of the display case, I bet. Which is likely why Academy is quitting the line.

I am pretty sure the initial hiccup is not a inherent flaw or design problem, so I still think this one will work out real well for range practice. You're right about it being a steel gun and needs a little break-in. If anything, being a little tight brand new can actually be a good thing.

Got the Hancer cleaned & lubed last night, and will be giving it a good workout again either today or tomorrow.

Love the price and feel of this gun hope we can get them worked out. Never been afraid of out of the norm guns. Star PD one of my all time favorites. Nothing like nice steel guns, may not want to CCW, but have carried full size 1191's. May be a bit before I get it back out but will post how it went.

Volfy,

Where in TX are you? I've checked out a couple Academys in Austin without any luck. There's plenty of stuff on clearance but I particuarly would like to pick up a CZ clone locally.

Thanks.

SW Houston. I have been to all the Academy stores this part of town and most are all out of Sarsilmaz. Only a couple of stores still have one of either Hancer or Kama left. That was this past week, so no telling if they are still there. One curious note though, one store that was out of them before Xmas had a Kama back out in the display case. May be Academy still has some stock left in their main warehouse (Katy?).

Academy is also clearancing out the BUL Cherokee for $388, which is made in Israel, I believe, which makes pretty good firearms. Just makes the $278 Sarsilmaz leftovers seem that much sweeter buys.

BTW, I picked up a Hogue CZ75 wraparound grip at the gun show last weekend. I would have preferred one for the CZ75 compact version that would be a closer fit for the Hancer, but I don't think anybody makes one. Anyhow, I trial-fitted the Hogue on the Hancer. The lower part obvious is too long, but the upper part seems to have all the right contours and allowances. If I ever end up picking up a Kama, I'm pretty sure it would be (or very close to be) a drop in fit. Otherwise, I'll modify it to go on the Hancer.

Bosshogg, for me it seems the more popular it is, the less attractive it is for me. Which is partly why I stay away from Glock. My only handgun for many years is a Browning BDM. Great steel gun with a very novel pistol/revolver mode feature and very slim for a double stack 9mm. Makes most double stackers today look like pork-bellied Nerf guns.

I got the last Hancer in No. Little Rock. They had 1 Kama in the safe & 1 on display. They told me that they wouldn't get anymore after they sold.
I don't know if they transfer between stores, but may be worth checking into.
