I'd say overall the Savage out of box will be more accurate. But that doesn't always hold true. Both are fine rifles with plenty of aftermarket parts to make either one a tack driver.

This is really a six of one half dozen of the other type question and will boil down to personal preferance...pick the one you like best and go from there!

If you plan on modifying it with custom stock, barrel, etc - go Rem. The stock Savage with a HS Precision stock, or MCMillan from the factory will out shoot a Rem.

Savage 1:10 twist, button rifled

Remington 1:12 twist, hammer rifled.

Savage wins the out of the box question, Remington wins custom question, but Savage is catching up.

I have heard this before plenty of times, Savage out of the box and Remy always wins because of customization. Aftermarket barrels can be had for both. I would imagine that actions could be trued the same too. Why is it easier to customize a Remy over a Savage? Is it because there are more smiths that work on Remys? I have a Mcmill stock Savage and love it. I think that when I can out shoot my gun( if it ever happens ) I think a custom action with a barrel, stock and trigger will be next. There are some custom actions out there about the same price of a trued Remy.

i think ill just take a re3gular accu-stock if i go savage the funky macmillan style is just weird for me

noticed i can get savage weathe warrior w/ accustock and accutigger cheaper than police models. whats the difference?
