I Just Put One In Layaway And It Is Absolutly A Beauty Laminate stock say they are hard to get. they arent cheap they come with a price tag of around a 1000.00 bucks stats are 0.88 at 500 yds shooting times article april 2007.

Must be a misprint check it for yourself savagearms.com/centerfirearticles.htm maybe will learn something about sarcasim by the way I thought this was a sight to help all not critisize and belittle peoples post by the way if you read the article like I have you may learn something 0.50 at 100 yds. I am by far a weapons guru and wont ever claim to be thats why I come to this site everyday to learn new things one last thing what does senior member mean you know everything and it allows you to beliitle people and critisize other members who arent as qualified with knowledge as yourself.

Wow, you act as if you wrote the article yourself. I did not mean to get you so worked up, I just think the info sounds a little exaggerated. I mean really, .176 MOA( I think thats right) thats quite the claim.

"stats are 0.88 at 500 yds" I don't know what "stats" means but when you mention groups sizes you think average group size. The group you mentioned was one group(luck has something to do with a group that small that far away) not the average and more reasonable 1-1/2 MOA.

I made no claims of being knowledgeable or qualified but its nice to know what people really think of me. I wish people well with their $1000+ F/TRs while i continue to shoot MOA(sometimes sub-MOA) with my lowly $300 Savage/Stevens model 200.

Sorry to piss you off but I can't help but be cynical in this day and age.

I Was Just Going Off Article And Hell It Might All Be Bull Crap I Guess It Rubbed Me The Wrong Way Made It Sound Like I Was Lying I Dont Know Enough About Anything As Far As Weapons To Be A Good Lier No Hard Feelings And At Least You And I Got The Balls To Talk About It And Move On I Will Stay In Touch Truth Is You Tell It Like It Is and I Like That Thanks For Bringing Out The Best In Us Victor

Getting back on track...I shot the 12F/TR PTR a couple of weekends ago. The unique things about the 12F/TR are 1) the super-light target accutrigger in the range of 8oz, and 2) the full-length big-honkin bull barrel. The example I fired stacked 168gr FGMM into .25" at 100yds. The receiver had a teeny ejection port -- I imagine to stiffen the action -- but loading/unloading was a pain.

It is NOT a field rifle, but at 14lbs with scope, recoil was very pleasant.

Best applications for something like this would be long-range target shooting, or police work. It seems a bit heavy for 'yotes, unless you're willing to lug a brick quite a ways.

But at the end of the day, I loved the gun.

these are also single shot, with left eject port, are they not??? I have fired a dudes 12fvss varminter, and it was damn accurate, so this baby must be double tough to beat. But you are def right about 1 thing, at about 15 lbs, and a 26 inch bbl, you are not going to be humping around in the woods with it.

Nope, the F-class and F/TR are built on the right bolt/right port version of the savage "small port" action (the factory right bolt/Left port version is the long rage precison varminter)

based on what i have seen and heard in various places a left port gun would not be popular in either of the F-class divisions. since they shot prone.

Left port works well for guns fired exclusively from a bench, but stinks when used from most any other position.

there was alot of discussion on these facts over at the savage shooters forum back when the Savage first started talking bout making a small port action. And most seemed to think that the RB/RP action should have been first, but savage management thought otherwise. but it was what one extra year for a factory right port to be sold (IIRC they offered right bolt right port unbarreled actions soon after the LRPV came out)
