Has anyone ever heard of this .22lr rifle? An in-law is trying to sell this rifle, it's a semi-auto .22lr rifle with a tubular magazine under the barrel. On the barrel it reads Savage Springfield 187S. I just wanted to get some info on this rifle and value estimates, it could use some cleaning up and has alot of light rust spots through the bluing on the barrel.

Yep, my first rifle except it was a Stevens Model 87B. Mine the blue
is kind of gray, but no rust. Many thousands of rounds through it with
a firing pin replacement and a small spring that attaches to the feed tube
acts like a bullet guide. Bolt handle pushed in converts to kind of a single
shot. Fire pull the handle out and back. Let the handle go and it feeds
the next round and back into the semi auto mode. Handle pulled back
and pushed in, locks the bolt back. Had this one new since the fall of
1957. There is a rear receiver plug that unscrews. Careful as spring,
bolt and firing pin slides out as a unit. Too bad about the rust, but they
are good shooters!
