I just purchased a SCCY CPX-2 for $225 New,I was apprehensive at first after researching the gun but after turning the mag springs around 180* which was causing some FTF's[ manufacturing error] the gun is flawless. If Your on a budget this is the gun you would want,it feels, shoots and functions like one of my top quality handguns_[Beretta PX4,Ruger, SRC40,Tarus G2] It fires everything I have feed it with the exception of Steel cased rounds which is not recommended.the targets were shot at 20-and 40 ft.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10202836784581980&set=vb.1272374653&type=2&theater https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1/1800440_10202853919170334_1342137113_n.jpg

A buddy has one of those and found the same model 59 15 round mag the KT p-11 uses will work in the cpx-2. 10+1 stock mag and 15 round mag as a back up makes for a nice setup for carry. Thank those ex-kel tec guys for making a better looking p-11 !! HA

How many rounds do you have through it after you turned the mag springs around?

Like how you broke the 180 after the string-can I ask where you shoot, so I can avoid it?

Wow! Another THR EXPERT-Safety First DT-We reserved the range for 60 minutes to do the video just the camera man and myself, NO ONE ELSE on the range,My firearm was empty at the end and is pointed in a safe direction at the beginning and there is no shooting lane to my left at no time did I sweep the firearm and it was pointed down range the whole time, and at the end of the video you see me clear the gun and check it even then the gun was still being pointed in the safe direction with my Finger OFF the Trigger,We did a few videos Safely .Firearms are Dangerous,I've learned that in 45 plus years of Handling them
WITHOUT INCIDENT AND I WILL DO MY BEST AND EVERYTHING THAT ENTAILS TO MAINTAIN AND CONTINUE TO DO THAT,MY LIFE AND THOSE AROUND ME IS AT STAKE!

About 25 rounds before I checked the Mag & Springs ,I noticed how the Rounds were loose in the mag.

It is indeed an intriguing pistol. Though it runs a little long, Hickock45 has a pretty comprehensive and favorable review on YouTube.

If I didn't already have a nice PF9, I'd be looking at the SCCY. That price is very good; I paid more for my PF9 even before I upgraded the slide to hard-chrome.

I bought the CPX1, well actually two of them. I have run a bunch of different full tilt reloads of mine through them. Both have performed flawlessly, and they shoot every bit as smooth and accurately as my high end models. I like the product.

A friend recently acquired one of these. I got to look at it the other night. It looks to me like a P-11 with a little better fit & finish. Of course I find myself wondering if the trigger is any better.

SCCY and Kel-Tec have some common DNA when it comes to the people involved behind each country, AFAIK.

I had a CPX-2 and sold it before ever shooting it...it felt terrible in my hand. I've got big hands too....it was way too square.

I didn't like the trigger on them...
What didn't you like about it? I see from their website the weight is 9 lbs, which is heavier than I prefer. How about the length of pull? Any other popular pistols to which you would compare it?

The one that I handled at LGD didn't seem like a 9lb trigger,

It wasn't a smooth trigger, and it got harder to pull right before it broke, felt more like an 11lb trigger toward the end. I thought there was slack in the trigger, a little sloppy.

The main thing for me is that it was hard to get good follow-through with the trigger.

Could someone get to be OK with it with practice? Yes...

And it is a CHEAP gun, so while it would be nice to have a better trigger on it, you can't expect a competition trigger on a $250 gun.

On the other hand I wouldn't call the gun AMAZING, I think they are a good value, but nothing about the SCCY jumps out at me and makes me think "wow I really love this gun".

I might even get one if I have to go into Chicago. The thought of the CPD engraving a number on my Rohrbaugh R9 and throwing it in an evidence locker is a little tough to contemplate...

Amazing to the fact that it was $225 and in hand it sure doesn't feel cheap to me,My EDC is either a Colt Detective 38 Special and I often think if heaven forbid I was involved in a incident it would be taken as evidence or my Ruger SR40C or my Beretta 9mm sub compact,,This will be in my EDC rotation just because of that fact,it will be a lot easier to keep in my car locked than one of my high end firearms.A lot of people complain about the trigger pull but if you've carried and fired a revolver you will not have a problem.

I have a CPX-2 Gen 2 with 450 problem free rounds through it. I've got more refined firearms, but I trust the Kahr to carry it. My main carry is a post recall XDs .45 with my Glock 19 as #2. The SCCY is probably "3, depending on dress, weather, etc.

Our range had some of these available for a test drive today.
As mentioned, the gun does not feel cheap at all to me. Kel-tec feels cheap. The CPX has a solid feel in spite of the light weight design.
The trigger is very revolver like with a smooth and consistent travel. Maybe not as long as a Kahr trigger but slightly heavier. I found it to be very manageable and contributes to the solid over all feel of the gun. Robust is the best way I can describe it. Definitely don't get that sensation from Kel-tec.
I really don't get so caught up in the feel of a gun so long as I can hit with it. Actually, I expected more recoil but it manages that quite well IMO. Follow up shots are easy.
My friend liked it so much he bought one for EDC. How can you complain about the price? You can very well pay more for a similar pistol.

Shaving the mag follower down a bit lets you load 11, maybe 12 if you get sporty. My two 11rounders work fine with FMJ and Gold Dots.

I have heard good things about the CPX-2 over the first generations. Not a bad price either.

BTW that range looks just like the one I go to Miami valley shooting grounds.
