Xenia,
Thanks for your explaination. Actually, I was only half-disagreeing from my original understand of what you wrote. From my way of understanding, I would have lumped practically all sexual offenders in a "dominant" category. Logically, I could see that as a motivating characteristic. My contention was that a dominant personality doesn't have a correlation with being a function of one becoming an offender.
Thank you for your break-down on sexual predator characteristics. Frankly, as I inferred in the above paragraph, I would have been more likely to push more into your first definition. I've never really considered the second. You learn something new every day.
After spending more time on this thread due to discussions, I do want to add my voice to those that have suggested carrying on your person as opposed to in your purse. Their arguements made a lot of sense to me. I should take that to heart as well. Often I will slip my handgun in a side-pocket on my laptop case when walking to and from my office. Seems that this could be a weak-spot in my preperations as well.
At any rate, thanks for taking the time to respond, and thanks for educating me (us) on offender characteristics. And again, I am glad that your situation went as it did.
