I just bought a NEF SB2 Handi Rifle in 223 Rem. I'm reading up on scopes and trying to decide what I need for 200 yard (maybe 300 yard) paper punching:
1. fixed or variable
2. objective lens size
3. power?
4. sun shade
I do know that I need to get a scope that lets me adjust for parallax (AO).
When shooting at very long ranges, how do you ensure the rifle is perfectly level and not canted a quarter of a degree to either side?
Any advice will be appreciated.
By the way, I've never scoped a centerfire before so I've never had to deal with bases and rings and installation. The rifle came with a one-piece base.
Yesterday, I bought the November issue of SHOOTING TIMES and it just happens to have two "how to" articles dealing with scope alignment (pages 28 and 76).
