Went to the gun show in town yesterday and all the pistol powders, w231, greendot, titegroup etc. were next to the hens teeth:rolleyes: One vender had some IMR SR7625 which he said would work in place of W-231. I bought a pound and after looking in my books didn't find much for the lead I use. Can anyone steer me in the right direction in the amount of powder for the listed bullets. (all lead)

.38 spec./257 158 gr.LSWC
125 gr. LFP in both cal.
9MM 125 LFP
147 gr.RNFP

.45 ACP 200gr.RNFP and LSWC
The only one I've tried is 5.7 gr's under the .45 ACP's They seem to shoot good. ( shot 5 of ea. bullet type) It seems to meter very well in my LeePPM. Looks and tastes like W231, Titegroup
Thanks in advance Howie

Thanks for the laughts! Can't help you with that bullet weight, but I've used it in the past and it worked well. If I were to come across more, I'd buy it.

Deadeye...Here's my loads with 7625 using the Lee Pro Auto Disk:

Disk hole #46 gives 4.3 grains with 0.357 Darda's non-shouldered 124 LRN, COL 1.100-5, shot through my S&W M&P 9mm, fps=970.

Disk hole #49 gives 4.5 grains, same bullet-COL-gun, flies @ 1035 fps.

Through my S&W SD9VE 9mm, with #46 & #49, my COL is 1.120-5 using 0.356 Darda's shouldered 125 LRN. The 4.3 grain load flies out @ 987 fps & the 4.5 grain load @ 1040 fps.

For both guns, my preference is the #49 load. My COL was determined by the plunk test.

HODGDON reloading data can be found online... hodgdon.com
They have just what you're looking for. Good shooting!

I used some and liked it in 9mm with MBC 125 lead conicals, clean, meters well.
Would have bought more if I could have found any later.
Using Hodgdons data for 125 LCN the start load of 3.6 had some funtioning issues in one of my pistols and I settled for 3.8-3.9 which seemed to shoot well for me, which was what my .40 disk was throwing.
I was getting about 1010 fps with 3.9 and an OAL of 1.10
Hodgdon lists 4.1 as the MAX with 125 LCN in 9mm. (brand unknown) they show 4.1-4.6 for a 125 FMJ.

125 GR. LCN IMR SR 7625 .356" 1.125" 3.6 933 24,600 PSI 4.1 1035 31,200 PSI

Lyman lists 3.9 MAX with thier 120gr lead bullet.

Used 5 gr in .357 with MBC 140 zinger, seemed to shoot well, don't have the vell as I shoot those before I had my chrono, but I would call them light-medium.
125 GR. MEI CAST LRNFP IMR SR 7625 .358" 1.580" 5 1110 15,000 PSI 6.5 1339 24,000 PSI
158 GR. MEI CAST LSWC IMR SR 7625 .357" 1.620" 4.5 965 15,400 PSI 6.1 1186 28,400 PSI

I don't know if it is true but I have heard 7625 varies more lot to lot than some other powders. (Also that it is being discontinued...worked well for me)

For 9mm, Steve's Pages Reloading lists 3.9 to 5.4 grains for 123-125 grain bullets, and, Lee's 2nd edition lists 4.4 to 4.9 grains for 124 grain jacketed.

Under 124/125 jacketted/plated 9mm, 4.5 grs shoots great at about 1065-1075 fps./ 130-133-ish PF
I use four different bullets , 3 JHP and one Berry's HBRN-TP . All at 4.5 grs. and near the same speed. Hogdon shows 4.6 grs max. for 9x19.

The powder is pretty linear as you work up a load. You can see a small step up in speed with each .1 gr increase in powder. It does burn a little dirty with these loads in my CZ compared to vv n320.
