Hey guy's I need some help building a scout rifle and I'm wondering what type of platform to set up etc. I'm looking for more experience or just about any help on the topic
look at the savage scout rifle, legacy sports(howa)has a ss barreled action you can buy in
slim or heavy barrel.cut to 18 inch or so.they might also have an action only available,at which time you can have a 5r 11.25 twist barrel cut by krieger.if your on a budget, savage is good.look at the 110 i think, where you can easily change the barrel yourself.
Right now I was looking to pattern it at an Lee Enfield beater I bought at a show last weekend. I mean it has detachable mags and was converted to .308. It can also be loaded with stripper clips. Does that sound plausible?
better off using stripper clips, leave the mag in.shoot the beast, see where it shoots.if lousy, check springfield sporters for a new barrel.shorten to 19 inches.
