Finally got back to the range after missing some matches.

Shot my single Ithaca 22lr, CCI Stingers, iron sights off of some sand bags, for a score of 63.

Edit:Also shooting for a challenge on another forum today. 200yd iron sight challenge. Used the same setup but at 200 yds, hit six of ten on the page, five on target.

If there is any interest in doing so, and the rest of the folks here have a range that will accommodate that length I'd like to give something like that a go here (but allow optics in the appropriate division). Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

BTW, good shooting for irons @ 200...particularly for shooting something supersonic.

:)

I, too, like the idea of 200, so I think that's the one to go with if nobody else has any problems.

:)

Had time to do some more shooting today, got a 72 shooting off cardboard box.

I have yet to be able to get out and shoot this target. I'll change THAT tomorrow. As far as a 200yrd. challenge goes I'm up for it. The range that I belong to has 300yrd. capabilities. Lets do it !

Sounds like a plan, I'll come up with a nice simple, large, high-contrast target and we can get to it.

:)

I only have 100 yds available, so perhaps a different sized target (or different scoring values) would work.
Sorry for being so slow to respond; I've been out of town for the past few days. At extreme ranges I don't believe that a reduced target size would be fair (at least not using a linear reduction in scale), but what about 200yds. magnified optics and 100yds. non-magnified...if that's an option would you mind shooting in the non-mag. div. (FWIW this includes red-dots and other forms of non-magnified optics)?

:)

Well, I finally got out to shoot this target today only to find out when I got back home that I had shot it WRONG . LoL, I put two holes in each target instead of one! That will teach me to double check the rules before I leave. Oh well. guess I have to go back out to the range today.

Shot this yesterday. All out of match ammo so I had to shoot this with CCI AR Tactical. 50 yrds. Savage mark II, Mueller APT scope 14x, shot off the trunk of my car using bipod and towel for rear.(forgot the sandbags). I was fairly pleased with this considering the ammo I was using. 85 deg sunny, light breeze.

robbieg19, I'd call that pretty good too, particularly considering the ammo used (there's no love lost between CCI and myself, but I can't call that a poor group). Those Mk. IIs can be tack-drivers, IMO one of the best rifles for the money (and the best on the new market).

Yes I'm very happy with my Savage. It's amazing the kind of accuracy you can get out of a inexpensive stock rifle these days. It really likes Eley club (have shot numerous sub moa 5 shot groups at 100 yrds) but haven't been able to find any lately. What's suprising is that it shoots the CCI as well as Lapua Center X. Good for me I guess.

If you are able to procure any (a big 'if" these days), give RWS Rifle Match a try. every bbl is different, but I've had good luck with these out of several rifles. You also may want to give Aguila Match Rifle a shot (especially considering your rifle liking Eley, as this ammunition is Eley primed), it's not as good as some others I've tried and is definitely "hit or miss" (some rifles love it, some hate it, but there's very little in between from my experience), but it's very reasonably priced and works quite well in my custom 10/22. It's my general purpose round...I even use it for hunting from time to time (though I typically go with 40gr. RN Fed. Champion for said purpose as it's a little faster, even cheaper, and performs nicely despite not being a high/hyper velocity HP).

:)

Nothing like getting in just under the wire.
I picked up a pretty nice vintage Mossberg 151M so I thought I would take it out and test drive it. Well after some frustrating functioning issues I was finally able to get off a few rounds without issue. Here is the result.

Looks like the new rifle shoots well...and likes the smaller targets. ;)

Thanks for shooting folks, we'll have this one wrapped up and the next started later today.

:)

LoL, I saved the larger center target for last thinking it would be a chip shot. That's what I get for being cocky.

Sorry for the delay on getting the scores tallied folks, I'll spare you the details but I have a lot of things going on at present. Here goes...

Magnified Division/Target Class:
1st: nbkky71 (88)
2nd: ford8nr (84)
3rd: robbieg19 (82)

Magnified Division/Sporting Class:
1st: TIE: BUGUDY & RBH44 (72)

Non-Magnified Division/Target Class:
1st: Texas4x4hoe (63)

Again my apologies for being so slow, I'll get the new match up and running shortly. :)
