Howdy, folks.
I'm curious as to if there is a rifle that meets this criteria out there on the market.

Non-Milsurp
Non-Dragunov style
Semi-Automatic
Detachable Magazine Fed
7.62x54R

I do believe that Valmet made a hunting rifle in 7.62x54r that was a semi. Might have been Drag- style though.

Found a 1940 Hungarian sporting rifle.

looks like it was built on an SVT frame.

The Hungarian is still a milsurp, being a sporterized SVT. I cannot think of a single semi-auto 7.62x54r that is not either based on the SVT, the SVD, or PSL. There are lever guns, of course, as well as double rifles, but no commercial 7.62x54r that is not based on one of the three actions.

I have heard that the Stg-2000's are supposedly coming out with two other variants; a 308 and the above. But so far, just hearsay.

Those would still be AK's, and in this case, PSL's with different clothing (I wonder if the front sight would be mounted over the gas port or on the barrel?). They might have shorter barrels like the paratroopers of old, though. In any case, they aren't Dragunov-based, but I assume that includes the PSL which has the same look.

That's kind of the problem, though. I can't think of any commercial self-loading actions that would generally be suitable for 7.62x54r because of the rim. I suppose you could modify an M14-based rifle, but that would mean completely new magazines or adapting the M14 to PSL mags.

But man that would be an expensive rifle.

it says 762.51 russian. So you can bet your life , with 100% assurity, if it is made in Russia, and is based on a Drag platform, they will chamber it in
762.54.
