Hey, everybody,

It's about 6 AM, and I just finished watching a delightfully crazy movie called "Captain Ron" and it, oddly, inspired in me a desire for knowledge concerning those Semiauto M1919 clones and such.

In general, I was wondering if anyone knew of an exhaustive list of companies making semiauto machinegun lookalikes.

In particular, does anybody make a semiauto M2 .50-cal?

Ohio Ordinance makes semi 1919 clones. They also make 1928 Browning semi clones. That is what I really want. Water cooled! Yeah!

Here is the list I can come up with. I am sure there are more, however.

Ohio Rapid Fire makes semi-auto 1919s, 1917/1928s, and HK21s

Ohio Ordnance Works makes semi-auto 1928s

Allied Armament makes semi-auto 1919s, 1928s, and M2s

TNW Firearms makes semi-auto MG34s, M2s, and 1919s. I have also heard they did manufacture a MG42 as well.

Vector Arms makes a semi-auto RPD

Michael's Machines is supposed to be making a semi-auto HK23, and HK21

VLTOR is making a semi-auto PKM, which I believe is the same one that Military Gun Supply is advertising.

U.S. Ordnance makes semi-auto M60s, 1919s, and a Vickers.

Historic Arms supposedly manufactures a semi-auto RPDs, and is supposed to be working on a semi-auto M240. Historic Arms does not have a website that I am aware of.

Lastly, there is a rumor that FN is going to be making semi-auto M249s and M240s.

My semi-1919 has been up and running for about 2 years now, I didn't buy it, I built it. I don't have any opinion on any of the "store bought" semi's out there only the home builds.

It isn't a hard build to accomplish for someone who is mechanically inclined.

Kit was $350.

Right side plate and rivets $120

Machine work $100

Accessories (links, belts, spare parts, extra barrel) $300

Ammo ......OMG$$$$$$

I have about $1000 into mine, recently purchased the A-6 kit, (flashider, butt stock, carry handle and bipod).

:) Shooting it is a real hoot...I always invite the gapers at the range to rip off a few rounds while they are standing there with jaws on the floor.

Check out here for much more info. http://www.1919a4.com/

One word of advice, owning a belt-fed is expensive, a lot of maintenance, more so than a standard rifle....and in my opinion, very addictive. :D
