Um, they have a reputation for charging MUCH LESS for shipping your rifle (or pistol if you are an FFL, and for said rifle arriving in a single (complete) piece not the plural pieces.

If only the CIA would ship USPS, and not contract carrier, it would save me sooo verryyyy much.

Someone should contact their Blue Dog Democrat legislator and slip a removal of this prohibition as an amendment to a "must pass" bill a la the National Park Carry/Amtrack baggage amendments. :D

It would be fun to see the liberals throw a tantrum again over another minor enhancement to the right to keep and bear and ship arms. :neener:

Huh. I just sent a feller a box of old .357 magnum reloads that I had, I just put 'em in a flat rate priority mail box and sent it out. Cost me $4.95, and he got 'em just fine. Good thing I didn't know about this.....

It is done on a daily basis by several of the local shops in my town and I also receive small quantities via USPS. Either their inspectors are not doing their jobs or they don't enforce the rule.

Slightly off topic, How illegal is it to ship hazmat (power/primers) via Fedex/UPS with out doing the proper notification and package labeling (plus whatever other requirements there are)?

Ammo is neither "an explosive" nor "hazardous", as claimed by USPS. They're full of crap. So now we have what, reason #8986543 to use FedEx instead?
