I found a nice, all matching Russian SKS in a local shop. Asking price is $399. It really is a gorgeous gun. I'm hesitant to plunk down $399 on an SKS though. If I don't buy it, I'll let you all know where it's at.

Russians have been overpriced for years because of the import ban, but since they've all pretty much come up to that level, by all means take it, IF and only if it's a pretty nice one.

go ahead and get the SKS, if you haven't already
the Rooskies are the best ones out there
you won't regret it, the price will only go up in the near future
and you can always sell it later

besides, iffin you don't somebody else will...

to be honest,IF i were in the market for an sks and IF it's as nice as your saying, then yes. the reason being it's a little nicer than others and what's going on all around(price wise) really sucks.

be smart, offer $350 and wipe the gleam from your eyes.

personally,i'm done until things change and if they don't,so be it.i'm already set.

Yes, I would do it.
Here in central ohio, I saw an sks in a gun shop that looks like it was on the losing side of a fight with a tank..... They were asking 350. Worse, I went back a few days later and it was gone.

It's an OK price. I got an unfired mint SKS complete wth original KBI box, accessories, and papers/manual a year ago for $500.

Huge fan of the SKS here, and the Russians are arguably the best.

$400 is a bit steep, I'd try to haggle.

For instance, I JUST a month ago paid $400 for a beautiful (and I mean beautiful Russian SKS - and I own and have own MANY SKS rifles) Russian SKS AND like 400 rounds of ammo including shipping!

If I didn't own one, I may pay $400. But since I do I'd pass.

Or - if you have patience, get a C&R license for $10 a year and then just order them from the distributers.

So - the lesson - haggle. Maybe bring him down $100 or even $25 bucks or get some extras thrown in.

Well if you want a Russian, that's about what they go for now days. They will only get more expensive as time goes on, so get it now if you really want one.

At the gun show here in the 'mid-south' two weeks ago, two really
good-looking Russians were each listed at about $400-450.

Would you shoot it often and risk scratching it, or keep it mostly sheltered in a closet?

Ok, PM me if you want to know where it's at.

I'm gonna pass on it.

Any Russian or Romanian girls around here better keep their skirts hiked pretty tight. I haven't seen anything but Yugos for some time.
