I'll have to take some pic's tommorrow. Only ones i have are the p95 i sold.

Hey sargents1, what rail do you have on the mini. I like the looks of that. I've been lookin at the amega mount, just wondering how you like it?

That is a NICE looking P85. Did you Duracote the frame? I was considering having mine Cerakoted in Burnt Bronze on the Frame and Black for the slide. I have the Hogue G10 grips on it now and I like the way they make the grip a little slimmer.
I used a DIY olive drab spray-on from brownells. The grips are Uncle Mikes, which aren't available any more. I didn't do anything to the slide except wipe it down with Break Free.

Its an Amega Ranges scout rail. I like it pretty well. It is solid and well made and fits well.

I do have a couple of comments/complaints about it.
- It sits higher than the Ultimak rail and I think it is a little heavier.
- From what I hear, if you have an Aimpoint Micro you can actually co-witness the iron sights when using the Ultimak. That will NOT work with the Amega.
- The sling I am using obscures the iron sights when using the Amega rail due to how high the rail sits.

If I had it to do over, I think I would go with the Ultimak. Oh, and this type of rail gets Really hot if you do any kind of rapid-fire. You may cook a cheap optic. It has not happened yet to my El-cheapo Truglo, but it is something to keep in mind.

Really enjoying all the pics. :) Many bring back memories of the ones I should have kept. Keep 'em coming.

The first gun I bought for myself was the Ruger 10/22 stainless and synthetic with a cheap simmons 3-9 scope. My XD pistol was next, then I needed a 22lr pistol. I wanted something like an XD in rimfire, but found that the plastic 22'r are hit and miss. I fell in love with the MkIII Hunter 6 7/8". The Mini 14 Target Model was a nice step up from the 10/22 and compliments it nicely. I picked up a Weaver Grand Slam 6-20 x 40mm scope on clearance. I ended up going with a Benelli Super Sport 12ga for clays and a Smith 460 XVR for a revolver. I have used the 10/22 and Hunter in local competitions and my XD pistol is tricked out for most of the competition I do. The others are just for fun. Half my collection is Ruger firearms and they have been great.

Thanks sarg. I had heard that about the sights. Figured on using quick release mounts. I'll have to check out the ultimak.

"trade for a chicken?" What are your plans for it. leave it or restore it?
Yup, traded a chicken for it, lol. I posted the whole story on here earlier.

Anyway, I was thinking about restoring it to like new condition, but that will cost almost as much as just buying a new one. So for now I just sprayed it with engine enamel to prevent rust, and I might just get new grips and call it done.
