In your opinions what which would make a better weapon for IWB CCW ?

Anybody has any pictures of the 2 side by side ?

All opinions much appreciated

As it happens, I'm carrying my HK 2000SK in an IWB right now.

Either will work, provided that you use a quality holster. My current IWB holster is a Bianci.

How do you define better weapon for CCW? What is your criteria that might make it better for YOU. That is what we need to know for us to use our experience and opinions to help you to form your own conclusions.

Personally, I would bet you could come to the conclusion that either could be better, depending on the criteria.

I'll vote for the 239 cause I like SIG's manual of arms.

Don't you know that you shouldn't put Sig's next to HK's! HK's get very jealous and start to cry every time.

Although I like the fact that the HK holds more rounds, it is a wider gun and I think the ergonomics of the 239 would lend itself better to IWB carry. The 239 is not my favorite Sig model, but its cheaper than the P2000 and you can find used ones now and then for very reasonable prices.

I would personally go the Sig route myself, honestly I'd take a Sig over an HK any day, unless that Sig happens to be a Mosquito:barf:

In the end the choice comes down to you, have you looked at each gun in person? I wouldn't buy either one until you get a chance to hold it and see how it feels in the hand, the Sig 239 has a completely different feel than a P2000, its hard to compare the two.

i have held them both ,but not side by side

i like that the hk weighs less and holds more rounds, but is more bulky

i like the sig, because i love sigs and i like that is thinner, but it weighs more and holds less rounds

i have never held either in a holster

Yeah, the HK is definitely thicker, especially in the slide, but it also is shorter from top to bottom.

I'm looking into getting a P239 for yet another carry gun, but I do love the P2000sk.

P2000SK:
-shorter
-lighter
-doublestack mag
-available in with LEM trigger/action

P239:
-a bit cheaper
-thinner
-sexier look
-available with DAK

I have shot a friend's P239 and it seems to handle the recoil better that the P2000sk in an identical caliber. I suspect this is due primarily to the metal frame vs. polymer.

Both are great guns - I'd say test fire both and see how you like 'em. :D

I also know that the HK (although thicker) is easier for me to conceal IWB because of the shorter grip. YMMV

I prefer HKs myself. The grip is shorter and the gun holds more rounds. It also is able to use USPc magazines giving it more punch if you need it as a backup. It is a lighter gun and I believe it holds more rounds. It is a reliable gun and is designed for CCW.

It is an HK...what more could you ask for? ;)

I don't know anything about the HK but I do carry a P239 a lot of the time and find it very comfortable, not too heavy and with some new night sights, its one of my 2 favorites as a ccw.

i looked at these pretty seriously but ended up with the HK. For me, being a thin person, the shorter grip length went a long way to concealing better. The HK also felt perfectly natural in my hand. It's highly accurate and quite comfortable to shoot, I've been very impressed so far. I don't find it to be bulky at all, it's quite small and light for the firepower it holds.
